Locations

The Basics

Locations dictate the structure of your site. Within these locations, pages, files, as well as other locations (known as sublocations) can be added.

Here's some tips for managing Locations on your site:

Creating New Locations

To create a new location, select 'Locations' on the navigation bar at the top of the page. In the 'Site Structure' menu on the LHS, choose the location in which you would like the new location to exist. Select 'Home' if there are no existing locations or if you want the new location to appear on your homepage ('Home') is the root location. The highlighted location will be the parent of the new location.

Click 'New' (just under the navigation bar), which will open the 'Basic details' of the location you are creating. Insert a title and alternate title for the new location - selecting 'Get suggested' will automatically create a URL so that the full path is defined. Select 'Save' at the bottom of the page once finished, and the location will appear once you refresh the page.

Scroll further down in 'Basic details' to insert a summary image, set the template & layout for pages that are added in the location, and more.

View / Edit a Location's Basic Details

To view or edit the basic details associated with a location, first select 'Locations' on the navigation bar. Using the 'Site Structure' menu on the LHS, choose the relevant location.

ViewChangeLocations

This will bring you to the 'Basic Details' section of this location, where you will be able to view / edit different aspects, such as its title, template for new pages, and more. Make sure to click 'Save' at the bottom of the page when you're finished editing.

Copying Locations

To make a copy of an existing location, first select 'Locations' in the navigation bar. Using the 'Site Structure' sidebar on the LHS, choose the location which you would like to make a copy of. Select 'Copy' beneath the navigation bar.

*Note*: Only the selected location itself will be copied. Sublocations will have to be copied separately.

*Note*: All sublocations (including their contents) within the selected location will also be deleted. To avoid this from happening, either move the sublocations to another location before deleting, or select delete sublocations individually.

If you have deleted something by mistake and want to recover it, the Recycle Bin tool can be useful. Learn how to use the Recycle Bin here.

Changing the Order of Sublocations

Sublocations are locations that exist within another (parent) location. To change the order in which these sublocations appear on your site, select 'Locations' on the navigation bar. Click on the location whose sublocations you would like to re-arrange, then select 'Order sublocations' beneath the navigation bar.
